More fun with the makvision2929d4G

Cap kit done on new-to-me makvision 2929D4g. Plug in the monitor and it comes up ok. Without an input signal it flashes color squares that read “disconnect.” Slowly, the screen get blurrier and fades to white over about 20 seconds. Eventually the sides of the projection pull in leaving vertical space on the right and left of the screen. Would love to fix myself but have no experience with crts.

What could cause this error?

Also, schematic and cap kit both refer to a board called 2929x005. What is that board and where should it be found? I have a main pcb, the neck board, and the small adjustment remote board. There’s a pcb on the top of the neck but it has resistors only and no apparent caps (also doesn’t appear easily removeavle).
