Ipac 4 Questions

Hello. First post here. I've been playing around with my Ipac4 and seem to have a decent grasp of it. I understand pressing the hotkey to switch modes. I've read if you load a config that contains gamepad presses and includes "xbox home key", it will automatically switch to mode 5. Has anyone had success with this properly switching? I created a .bat to run winipac and load a config, but it does not switch modes. Do ALL the slots on the Ipac4 have to be mapped to gamepad, even if you aren't using the slots, to get it to switch to mode 5 or 4? Is the "Home Key" supposed to be the trigger, or is something else needed? Thanks for any help!
