Avengers: Endgame - goofy as ever, with a couple bits of novelty

Well probably because he's sick of carrying the whole damn franchise on his back.  Every time someone suggests that the current Spiderman films are the best I respond that I prefer Spiderman when he isn't Iron man's little pet ---smurfette---.

At this point Downy could just do the inside the suit head shots and they could cgi the rest so I've got a feeling if they offer enough money he'll be back.  Regardless both characters will be back and even though the next Thor is about lady Thor, by the end of the film Thor will be Thor again and have his hammer.
Mr. Peabody:
Yo, Black Widow movie out next year, Iron Man is in it.

Thor has a hammer. Stormbreaker. Which he doesn't need. He's the "god of thunder - not hammers". In this respect, he is little better than Quill. Neither knows their capacity.

From where does Thor's power come? Odin took it away with a sigh.

Lastly, for the 'I just want to see gods punching each other' folks: why not skip the story, and Go Straight to the A?

Am the only one who feels the main Avengers films are overrated compared to the individual character films?

Especially the last two Avengers movies that seem overly steeped in melodrama. A prime example is the scene in Endgame where Hawkeye and Black Widow are competing over who gets to throw themselves off the cliff to get the soul stone. I had zero emotional investment in either character and thus was completely bored during that scene.

Conversely, I find myself enjoying films like Ant-Man, Thor: Ragnarok, Doctor Strange, etc, much more. They seem to take themselves a bit less seriously and consequently are more overly enjoyable.

Like arnie and terminator movies.
if someone told me he'd still be playing terminator in 2019 back when the first one came out i'd laugh at them hard.

I think the Avenger films are down right terrible.  The Avengers seem to argue at the drop of a hat like teenagers and the plots of the films seldom hold up to even the flimsiest bit of scrutiny, as I demonstrated with my rhetorical questions about Endgame.  On the other hand the Thor and Cap films are always on point (except for Thor 2.... nobody likes that pos).  The iron man and spiderman films, which are supposedly the most popular, are kind if "meh" in my book.  Iron man never had a sufficiently challenging villain and Spiderman seems like a stupid kid totally helpless without Stark's tech which is the total opposite of how the character is supposed to be.  Guardians, Strange and all the others are ok to watch once, but I don't really want to ever watch them again.  Honestly the entire MCU is overrated.... nerds are excited that their nerdy characters are finally on the big screen, which is cool, but so few of the films actually have anything to say.
