To be fair, the source material isn't exactly award-winning writing. I grew up collecting Marvel comics in the 80's and 90's, but looking back now I can see how flashy and vapid they were.  Small wonder the industry crashed in the late 90's and Marvel filed for bankruptcy.

Mr. Peabody:
To capitalise on Howard's last, and to give some explanation, I went to look for an article I encountered a few months ago, and was going to post here then but didn't, about how Fantasy and Sci-fi are the religion of the young. In a search for "sci-fi is a religion", that article was not on the first page, but the sixth result was this. Curious the date and scripture number referenced/quote:
