I saw Endgame. The time travel speech by Banner doesn't make sense. As always, whatever the writers want, they write in. Then there's the Nebula thing. Gotta introduce a rogue element else the story would....have less pain in it....not to mention that they took a ship there, but then just beamed back....no accountability plan anywhere, which Roadie should be developing and exercising to avoid such things. Any of you with military, let alone combat, experience know any decent-trained team would take the Avengers out in short order. And what the hell was Friday doing while Nebula was snooping and pooping?...when Thanos' ship smashed through the building....when it was looming over the complex: they can detect a swarm of flying ants in Ant Man, and can't see an SDF-1 size ship overhead.....oh, yeah, no major weapons around: SDF-1 would light 'em all up with the main gun. GAME OVER. The Dude Thor was cute. His fat looked pretty real. Did he get fat for that?... AND: anyone catch what Stan said in his [final] cameo? Make Love Not Porn. Funny, because I have had an eye on this movement. Good stuff. Bought a couple shirts. |

Ooops....I had an idea I should have watched again to hear Stan's words..... Some of you probably thought, 'he'll figure it out...' Oh well. Would have been super cool. MLNP arguably is one of the most important social developments. So one bit of novelty in Endgame. |

It's not good. Infinity war left the remaining characters ruined by the end but I would argue that endgame made them MORE ruined. Banner isn't really dealing with his Hulk problem, rather he found a convenient loophole (that isn't going to last). Thor ran away... literally this time. Bucky and Sam are going to be lost. Ect… ect.. At the beginning Banner says that traveling back to the past doesn't affect the future.... and yet.... yeah.... Cap's ending seems to completely contradict that doesn't it. Banner's arm is essentially dead after the snap, but didn't he say that the radiation was mostly gamma? Doesn't Hulk have a crazy powerful healing factor? Considering what Thanos did in the first few minutes of the film, why didn't Banner destroy the stones as he was wishing everyone back? Is it some kind of b.s. one wish at a time nonsense? Also why not just wish the first snap never happened? It'd be a lot more considerate than Stark insisting all the returned people get displaced by 5 years just because he had a kid. Oh and considering how bad it screwed up Hulk, how did stark even have a body left after his snap? Also while we are at it.... that whole infinity gauntlet requirement sure was b.s. wasn't it...… they just they threw stones in some iron man armor. Finally, since Gamora, Thanos and his entire army traveled to the future with no apparent repercussions to the timeline, why don't they time travel to just before Black Widow jumped and take her to the future? You can't say they are out of magic time travel juice because it's just ant-man suits and Pym particles.... hell Cap returns all the stones at the end via time travel. So yeah, they have time travel now and the writers didn't even have the sense to make it difficult to do.... kind of makes all future adventures pointless doesn't it? I find it cute that people think Cap and Iron Man are really dead. Pretty soon they'll try to roll out an "all new, all different" Avengers which will piss off the fans and they'll Star Trek III those deaths at the speed of light. |

That humanity couldn't get past their fate is telling. That the Avengers, even Natalia, couldn't - is telling. I admired Natalia until she became...normal. Hulk has gotten smarts many times. The Freud in everyone needs the angst to emerge and take hold - eventually followed by some repose. Thor's line made sense - and you know a woman needs to be in charge today - with which I have no argument. Thor is exploring himself, and seeking new and varied experience. Hail. Time travel in sci-fi tends to be stupid, except when it's a farce/comedy like Back to the Future. Maybe Hot Tub Time Machine. I haven't seen it. On the Infinity Stones: you can't destroy them by using them. The Stones are the ethereal elements of the universe (um, what about the Cosmos?...were Celestials affected?...and so on). They'd just disappear back to wherever they'd want to be, you know, to be used again. Stark's gauntlet was forged through his spirit, with high-end tech. Hulk could handle it because of his massive, um, personality (it wasn't the radiation, but the magnitude of power of the Stones that scarred him, and hence mutated his flesh to delay healing). Ditto, almost, Stark. Making Spidey a teenager in today's world was predictable (and how did that happen?...in the high school lab???), AND the LA-MEST. Except for The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, and Pretty in Pink I didn't give a ---fudgesicle--- about teenager ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- when I WAS A TEENAGER. That said, I think the decent Marvel movie of the lot was Into the Spider-verse. It was only slightly teeny and stupid, and the story line made sense. (Of course, the main characters being black ensured a less stupid storyline.) I enjoyed some of it. Other issues:nobody in the MCU explores their abilities with a shred of sensibility. (Black Widow and Hawkeye have no abilities beyond the normative. They would have gotten swatted aside when they attacked Bucky.....) The scientists don't act like scientists*. They act like children who think they know better. In another vein, half-way through Far From Home I was beginning to think the writers, and at least Gyllenhahl (whose performance was superficial - though the character was ridiculously hyperbolic in the fashion of today's psychobabble writing) were saying 'this ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- is ridiculous, you fools', which is underlined by Mysterio's dying words: people will believe anything...... They need to go back to adult characters to have a decent story - but that won't happen, because kids rule the entertainment world. If the world goes to hell, they're gonna need us. Cap came back. Chris Evans I don't feel has a lot of range as an actor. I think he will be back as captain america. Downy, probably not. I could be wrong but he can pretty much do whatever he wants and is rich AF. I think he's tired of playing iron-man. |
