It's repairable if you have soldering skills.  Super glue it back together then repair all the broken traces.  Or find another collector with a parts chassis and buy the neck board.  Luckily for you this is not a well loved monitor in collector circles so there are sure to be folks that are tossing them in the trash or in a heap and would happily give or sell you a neck board.  I happen to like these monitors but I am definitely a minority.

I don't know enough to know whether all K4600 neck boards can be interchanged but you can search eBay for "k4600 chassis" and find lots of stuff.  Maybe an entire chassis with the neck board for $99.  Or a posting like this maybe the neck board could be used:

Thanks for the replies.  So if I wanted to put an lcd monitor in its place while I decide how to proceed, what would you pick to get her going?  Thanks so much

ArcadeShop has those 19" Vision Pro LCD's.  I bought one before I knew I was going to acquire a CRT and it looked fairly nice plus its well suited for mounting in a cabinet.  They cost $229 though and I find others aren't willing to spend like I do.  You can get a lower quality LCD monitor.

  • This plan is foolproof

If you are going to buy a LCD monitor, why don't you just buy a CRT? It would be a drop in replacement, and when you got the original one fixed you would have a spare CRT.

If you send me your 4600 I can cap and repair it   You’d probably have it back within a couple weeks total. PM me if interested.
