Interlaced super resolutions don't maintain 100% in GroovyMAME
« on: December 31, 2018, 03:37:46 am »
When running an interlaced super resolution 2560 wide, MAME doesn't maintain 100%. It fluctuates between 99% and 101%. Narrower interlaced resolutions eg 640x480i and non-interlaced super resolutions maintain a solid 100%. Groove .204 under W7, HD5450, i5 3740T.

I've seen the same problem. Try frame_delay 0 and then try frame_delay 1. Any difference ?

This is with frame_delay 0, frame_delay 1 doesn't make any difference.

I wonder if my GPU is too weak to blit 2560x480 @ 60Hz, even with frame_delay 0.

Sure it is. 2560x480 are too many pixels. Use standard 4:3 resolutions for interlaced modes and super resolutions for anything up to 288p.

Thank you, that is what I am doing now. I created a user_modes_combined using the progressive modes from user_modes_super and the interlaced modes from user_modes.
