--- Quote from: meltman on October 20, 2018, 06:35:23 pm ---I appreciate that. I'm not normally a fan either, but I wanted to give this design a go. Usually they look quite weird like a bartop glued to the wall. On PL1's recommendation, I've extended the play surface 2 inches so there will ample space for trackball play. Thanks for suggesting that PL1! --- End quote --- Exactly. A flat bartop causing you to stand a foot from the wall is a bad idea. This is more of a functional game countertop, which I can dig. |

Not much progress. Spent a bunch of time refining the templates. I made sure they were smooth and straight and that the slots where the boards will "slot" together were dimensionally accurate. Now that they are good I'll set up the router and make some real pieces soon. |

Progress! Traced the templates to rough cut with the jigsaw before routing. Test fitting! Much much sawdust after routing. All clean. Tomorrow I'm going to try and knock out the other panels, then cut the openings for the access doors under the control panel and on the bottom angled panel. I have the monitor in my possession as well so I'll be tracing it out and getting the panel created for it as well. |

You’re a brave soul. The words indoor, mdf, and routing should rarely be used together in the same sentence. |
