The base of an arcade cabinet doesn't extend past the control panel. You are saving zero floor space unless you store stuff under the cab when it is not in use. You also sacrifice the ability to move it easily. |

This design will allow barstools to be tucked right up against, saving floor space. Having it be easy to move isn't an objective. There's a spot on the wall where it's going to go and it will stay there. I'd make the argument that any "skinny" depth cabinet needs to be anchored to the wall with kids around so unless I build a full depth one it wont be easy to move. |
