Hello
I've made a lot of progress since my last post, turns out I couldn't work out what was causing the monitor to shut-off, as I have been unable to recreate the issue, it now turns on and stays on my test periods went from 10 minutes, to 30 minutes, then over an hour with no issues.
Further more, I gotten the vertical hold and focus sorted out, and the image I was getting from the MVS was perfect (abet completely garbled due to aforementioned issues), my main goal was to connect it to my MAME rig using a J-PAC JAMMA Converter, so I set the CRT Emudriver with my AMD HD 4350 graphics card (I planned to use a 5xxx series card I have laying around, but it only has a DVI port, and I didn't have a VGA adapter), first impressions were good, other than the blurriness, ridiculous amount of overscan, the image being slightly to the right side of the screen and the slight jittering that I couldn't fix with the vertical hold.
After a few days I have managed to sort out most of the issues, but due to the fact that only one potentiometer knob remains, and it doesn't fit all of the pots on the daughterboard, I'm not able to completely sort out, but I have the following fixed:
Focus – about as clear as I can get it, it’s still a little blurry, but still perfectly legible
Overscan – the entire image is now on screen, although due to the image still being off-centre, it’s now a little on the small side
Jitter – disappeared upon second start-up, not sure what happened, but yeah
Now all I have to do is adjust the following:
Brightness/Contrast – as the image is fairly washed out
Colour (RGB) adjustment – as the blue channel is a bit on the strong side
Horizontal/Vertical adjustment – as stated above
Pincushion- I am unable to adjust this due to the absence of the KK Pincushion Module
If anyone has a schematic for the KK Pincushion Module, could you please send it to me, so I can create a replacement PCB (unless you don’t think I need it, then that’s fine)
Finally, here’s a video documenting my progress over the last couple of days (slight strobe warning, it turns out my phone was only recording at 30FPS for some reason):
(the pincushion issue can be seen on the left side of the screen during the Elevator Action Returns clip)
Once again (I bet it’s getting gutsy) thank you for everything.
show us which wires you have connected where on the neck card, the thicker of two wires is focus and should go int the crt socket- no matter what colour it is
Thanks for the comment, but as covered earlier, I’ve tested all connections and they’re all correct and working properly.
