Thatís kind of what I was thinking as well on the number of games for 4 players. And other than the wiring, cutting a new cp will only take a couple of hours plus prep/ paint so itís not the end of the world if I end up not liking it

Made some progress this weekend.  Got the main cabinet pieces primed and the big cabinet, and cp painted with the first coat.  So far, so good, but I AM TIRED OF SANDING! lol  I'll post some pics when I get a little farther.  Painting will probably take all week.  I'm limited to a couple of hours in the evenings after work, and I'm working with limited space in my garage.  The dang paint I bought takes 8hrs to dry in between coats as well.

Here's some pics after priming and the first coat of blue.  Haven't started on the orange yet.  Hopefully the rain will pass and I can work some more tonight.

Wow that is a large cabinet.  Are those 4 holes behind the CP for the cupholders?  Can you comfortably reach your drink?

Nice calendar by the way.

Yes, those are for the cupholders, and yeah- even the center ones are easily accessible.  Go big or go home, right?

Nothing exciting to post lately.  Still working on painting and sanding.  Will post more pics when something exciting happens.

In the mean time, I wanted to ask if anyone here has ever bought one of the "pre-configured/Pre-loaded" hyperspin drives?  I get the legalities behind it, so I don't need a lecture, I just simply want to know if anyone has bought one and if it worked.  I found one I can buy that is not much more than the storage drive the info is sitting on.  It's an 8TB drive so it would hold more than I could ever possibly need.

Why not decide what you need and go from there? Why get 1000's of roms and emulators you won't need? Doesn't look easy to navigate through that?

(And watch out for viruses...)

Part of the fun is curating your own game lists.  There are plenty of "best of" lists floating around to get you started.  I find that trying to include "everything" actually makes it harder to use the cabinet.

I have FINALLY finished painting!  :applaud:

Decided to start assembling last night, and putting t-molding on.  I estimated 50 ft, and was waay short, so I'll have to order another 20 ft to finish.  I mounted the trackball and joysticks, and just kind of sat a few other components in place to mock up the build to see what it was going to look like.  I'm sorry it took a while for the update, painting was a long process, and I knew Mike would be disappointed if the cupholders weren't in place  ;D

What do you guys think so far?

It looks like you are coming down the home stretch.

Don't shoot me, but those joystick shafts look short. How did you mount the joysticks? Or is it just the camera angle?

I am glad to see that you are going to finish this project. I hope you play the crap out of it. That is ultimately what matters the most.

Looks like an X-Arcade on top of a TV stand.  At least you got the trackball centered over home plate.  I would have used an Enron Field picture just to see if anyone noticed...  ;)

A World Series Champs logo would look sweet between the two center-most spittoons.

I have the extended shafts on order.  They are a bit short.

It's funny you say that, I had a helluva time trying to find a good background that wasn't too outdated.

How did you paint it?  Looks like a nice smooth finish!

I bought a cheapo Harbor Freight HVLP Spray gun.  I used two base coats of original Kilz, and 3 coats of Gloss Oil-Based Enamel from Sherwin Williams.

"spittoons"  :lol  I have one that would fit perfect.  Just have to see if it makes the final cut!

Thank you guys for the comments and compliments :)

They are pinball flipper buttons and a launch button.

I REALLY like this project. Unique take with the intentional storage, but I dig it. It might be the best unique design I've seen yet on this forum. It's the only good-looking project that you could legit leave out in your living room (maybe with a different team... you know, one that has a ball and a mitt as it's logo). AND it has cupholders, 4p, and pinball. Super impressive. Is there any way you could share the fruits of your labor (i.e. the plans)? I would love to make a few modifications and re-create it with just a stained wood!

Hey ,thanks!  I'd be happy to share the plans, but all I have is the inventor part files No drawings or anything.  I can export them to step files but not sure how much assembly functionality would be lost?  I also have the dxf files used to cnc cut the parts.  The files are pretty big though, so they would have to be shared like through dropbox or something similar.  Msg me an email address and I'll see what I can do for you this weekend.

Guys I'm having a hard time finding some information.  I'm sure I'm just overlooking it, so if someone can post a link I'd really appreciate it.  I'm using an IPac4, which is pretty straight forward on the wiring, but the Pac64 LED controller I'm using isn't.  I'm looking for something to map the default buttons to the inputs on the Pac64 to minimize reconfiguration if that makes sense.  In other words, p1 b1 goes to output 1, p1 b2 goes to output 2, etc.  Anyone know of anything like this?

Ok- so apparently a default mapping for leds doesn't exist. No big deal.

I would like some input on admin buttons.   I have 4 already installed, so the number of buttons isn't debatable anymore, but from those of you that have systems setup, what are your recommendations for the functions of these buttons?
