Where did all the down time go?

First, you plan way ahead and have kids in your early 20's so you are a "free man" by 45.  Then get divorced at 40, wait another 5 years, and you have all the time in the world.  It also helps to build a house 2 minutes from your work so you have virtually no commute, then get a job that allows you to be fairly flexible with your time, so if you want to spend a Friday working on a project at home instead of sitting in the office, you can do that with little planning.

At least that worked for me. YMMV

Life is funny, when you are young you lack the money or time to do what you really want to do.  When you finally retire, you are too old to care about most of it any more, even if you now have the time and money to do it.

Yea money is tight these days. But for me, time is the killer. My wife is taking most of this yer off to spend with the kids. You would this would make money the bigger issue, but buy the time I get home from work My wife is near the end of her rope. It’s hard to be home with two little children. We both try hard to give the other time but it’s always fleeting. Life was easyer over seas with two incomes, a Nanny, and hous keeper.

Hopefully when my son goes to camp in June, then PreK in fall we’ll all get a little more time.
Malenko:
I got a lot of my free time back when I started selling arcade games instead of buying and fixing them.

Divorced is awesome.
too bad kids are younger but at an age where the youngest can now work the microwave without burning the house down so I expect to get more things done.
