Jenn loves building games, and with the passion comes concessions, Work binges, sometimes almost 2 days long, and working to sheer exhaustion have worked for me, but not without consequence,....Spent a kings ransom, Lost jobs, forget to eat, virtually disowned by family, and you guys are basically my only friends during these nights in the dungeon.

Your family is taking up your free time? Sounds like your spending your free time exactly how you should.

Wise words, my friend. If your family is a burden, you need to rethink your priorities. :-)
yotsuya:
Getting back to the original question, I simply carve out chunks of time where my family knows I’m going to be working on hobby stuff. There’s a special understanding now around ZapCon that I’m going to be busy, but at the same time, I’m not going to cut into family time just because I want to paint something. I want them to like this hobby, not see it as something taking me away from them.
