Mike A:
Thank you. Now I can sleep tonight.

The particleboard construction of this thing turned out to be long-term disaster, as we are dealing with swelling and sagging on all sides.

The bottom portion was unsalvageable and had to be cut off and replaced with new wood.

With lots of corner brackets, I was able to get rid of most of the gaps too.

At some later point, I will hit it all with bondo.

Time for some metalwork. The doors are rusty and beaten up. I am refinishing them with Hammerite.

Part of the welds broke when I bent the doors straight again, but that’s easily fixed with solder and a torch. Just be careful as tin is less strong than proper welds.
mourix:
Quick lesson, kids. Don't scratch soft paint and think you can just spray over it without proper sanding and degreasing :banghead:

Ian:
I love this cab..... All Universal cabs (and their clones) are soo freaking awesome. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

Are you going to go with the Lady bug theme? They have a pretty decent library and use all of the same style of cabs. I would love to see a Space Raider theme.  :afro:
