Joust Control Panel Measurements
« on: July 08, 2017, 12:53:25 pm »
Hi Folks,

I am trying to build a dedicated Joust control panel for my multi-Williams Defender cabinet.  http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,152913.0.html
I'd like to keep the panel as true to the original layout and spacing as possible but can't find any measurements / plans.   Anyone have them?

If you have a Joust and can provide the measurements that would be great.  I've created a quick drawing of the panel. (Attached too.)  Since the sizing might be different measurements between the buttons/joysticks and from the center would be useful.

Thanks!

I'm at work right now, but when I get home this evening I'll break out the ruler and measure my CP for ya.

Thanks!  I will hopefully be able to create a set of drawings for the original panel too.

Slippyblade

Were you able to find time to measure the panel?

Thanks!

Sorry it took so long.  Here's a scan of my CP as well as an image showing measurements.  This is an original Joust panel, not a repro.  They button holes are all 1-1/4" because the leaf buttons have these little... wings?... under the bezels.  I guess to keep em from spinning in place.  The joystick slots are 1" x 1/2"

Measurements are from the top edge and the left edge.

This is amazing, It is too hot outside to do cabinet work so I decided today to finish up my Joust cabinet CPO. I had to fill a swiss-cheesed CP and wanted to get the original specs before applying the new CPO (no pre-cut holes). I usually find that the answers I find on here are several years old. Thanks to both of you. It saves me much heartache of trying to eyeball the measurements based on google image searches and freehand CPO guesswork.

I've made a small change so the spacing between joysticks and buttons is  3 5/8"  for both player 1 and player 2 by moving the player 2 joystick 1/4" to the left.
After overlaying on some pics of some Joust control panels it seems to be right. Double check it.
