Ipac 2 shift key issues
« on: April 01, 2017, 03:19:25 pm »
So could be beating a dead horse here but here it goes. I have an Ipac 2 (ps2 version) and the issue i get is that when i try to use the shift key everything works ok for a little while then it seems like it gets stuck and causes the board to have sporadic behavior. If i dont use the shift function at all for anything, i have no issues whatsoever. Problem is i need it since i have a limited number of buttons. I did use a keyboard program to track down that it is only related to shift function. it seems to get stuck then after several button presses it finally gets unstuck. i have setup the ipac to use different buttons as the shift button but its the same results no matter what button i use. so i dont think its a bad microswitch (unless i jsut dont know what im talking about lol). I do have a multi meter to test things if someone one thinks its a short, but im not sure how i would test it to find the short. I have already rewired the arcade with new 18ga wire thinking that might fix the issue but no luck. Any ideas im open to and ill be happy to try and report here. Could just possibly be time for an upgrade too. Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas. Thanks!
