Any reason for (2) 8/4 way controllers?
« on: January 25, 2025, 03:55:31 pm »
Getting ready to replace my 20 year old T Stik plus with a servo stick. I actually have 2 tstik sticks on player 1 and 2 and happ 8-way on players 3/4. As I’m thinking I can’t think of any games besides Kung Fu that actually uses 2 4-way sticks. Most 2 player games I am thinking of are turned based and share a stick. Should I just get one? And if so, what is the best 8-way I can get to replace the other 3 sticks with?  I play mainly older games and not much for fighting games. Need mounting holes to match happ mounts. Thanks!

I prefer Sanwa JLF sticks with octogonal restrictors.   I swapped one of my cabinets out for Sanwa JLW sticks so I could use Ultimarc's rotary joystick addon.   So far I'm happy with them.  I had to 3d print octogonal restrictors for them.

(Assuming) Ultimarc Servo sticks - they're Sanwa JLW sticks with the servo addon.  The grease that comes on them is a big sticky - I had to really work the JLWs to get them to loosen up a little - they'd stick sometimes.

If you're into 90s fighters (SF2 for example), the Happ / IL sticks are what those all used.
