Why 3 versions of Samurai Shodown 5 special?
« on: February 23, 2017, 12:46:20 am »
Anyone got an answer on this? I have all three and I know one is censored, one is uncensored ver. 2, and one is just what? :banghead:

Is only one censored? And if so, the other two are different how?  :dizzy:

They treated me like an animal and that's what I became.

Not sure on this specific game but it could be a version with bug fixes or a different region.

....because most arcade games went through multiple revisions and MAME's purpose is to document them...

There are games with many more than 3.

one has blood and fatalities , one has red blood and no fatalities, one has white blood. If I remember correctly.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

You learn something new every day!  I had no idea this game had fatalities until now.  Some are pretty brutal.  Now I know where MK9 got the idea for the X-ray moves.  There's some history here!

If my understanding is right the MVS version was uncensored but the AES version got censored, But the censoring caused bugs in the game so a less censored version was brought out to resolve the bug issue.
