**Fixed** Help With Nanao MS8-26 Monitor and Arcade VGA **PICS**
« on: December 03, 2016, 01:48:30 am »
Hey peeps.  I've been out of the Mame scene for 5 years (divorced, moved, etc. etc.) .  I finally had an opportunity to hook up my Mame cab and ran into a snag so please bear with me and my questions.  Last time I had my cab on (5 yrs ago) it was working flawless.  During the storage years my monitor and PC were stored in a cool dry basement without disturbance.  Here's my set up:

WG 1544721 Monitor (so it says multiple places)
Win XP PC with Arcade VGA
Arcade to VGA breakout cable (Ultimarc)

Honestly I forgot a bit on what I was doing to set up but I know I connected the transformer correctly to the monitor and the marquee to the power supply.  I connected the breakout cable to the only place I know it would fit **PIC** but when I turned on the PC the monitor just gave a blue screen with lines. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.  I plugged in the VGA card to a standard monitor and it works so I know it's not the card.  The monitor seems like it wants to run.  Any ideas of what could be happening?  Like I said before it was running flawless with the same set up 5 years ago.  Nothing should have changed.  I also added a pic of a wire that is wrapped around the chassis which I do not recall ever having to plug in before **PIC**.  I can't even see a space on any board which it could plug into.  Not sure what the purpose of that wire is, maybe that is the reason? Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

that is a nanao ms8-26 monitor

that connector is not the correct type,it looks like the type used on sanwa-try the correct connector first

if you remove the rgb input does the screen remain blue with lines,if so you have a fault on the blue drive circuit

You say it's not the right connector...what connector do I need to hook up to the vna card? This was the only one I recall having? Also, what's with the wire wrapped around the chassis? What's that used for?

Messed around with the wiring a bit and got a pic on the monitor :) Need to adjust some pots but should be good to go. Forgot how fun and frustrating this hobby can be. Lol.

Malenko, it's in the pic I have in original thread. 3rd pic. That's where the VGA breakout cord is plugged in.

Honestly, I do not know where the degauss cable even plugs in. Mine was always left unplugged.  Anyone know where?
