U360 Joystick Mame vs. Windows -- Button Numbers
« on: October 24, 2016, 01:00:54 pm »
Hey guys,

Has anyone run into problems with U360 sticks showing button numbers in Windows 7 one way, yet in Mame (v169) TAB configuration they show a different number value for JOYCODE?

I am not running ANY CFG or CTRL file (defaults are also blank)

For the life of me I cannot figure out why there is a difference.

Thanks,

  David

Most old software (and MAME) report them as one digit lower because they start with zero instead of one.
So your first button is 0, second button is 1, third button is 2, etc.

Is that what you're talking about?

Thanks ... that is exactly what what happening, I just confirmed!

I thought there was a problem, but rather the numbering was off by one for each button.

For example, windows properties shows button 7, yet MAME indicates this as JOYCODE BUTTON6. This is consistent for all of my joystick buttons.

Thanks for pointing that out!  ;D
