Does anyone remember this game?
« on: June 10, 2016, 01:20:11 am »
I remember playing it when I was quite young perhaps 10 at most so properly a good 20 years or so back, but it was a racing car game and you had loop de loops as you drove around it. I thought it was screamer but i don't think it was now as i cant find any game which has the loop de loops, they were quite large and you had to have some decent speed as you hit them etc

Boomslang I'd put money on that game being "Fatal Racing" if you were in the UK, or "Whiplash" if you were in the US.

Made by Gremlin Interactive back in 1995 and easily one of the best PC Racers back in the day :)

If you like that game the nearest modern day equivalents would be Nitro Stunt Racing ( Free Demo here http://www.nitrostuntracing.com/cms/ ) and any of the Trackmania series ( http://maniaplanet.com/trackmania/stadium )

Hope that helps :)

yeah!!! pretty sure that was it man awesome. I knew it as Fatal Racing

I kept thinking it was Screamer as it has similar graphics so i knew it would be roughly around that period. I used to love this game and played it all the damn time

Wow!  It's like Ridge Racer, only not boring as hell.  Can it still be played on a modern pc?

Yep Fatal Racing is still playable on PC today on Windows 7/10 via DOSBOX.

You can even use the very scarce 3DFX patch to make the game look even better :)

UPDATE:
-----------

Grab the game here, all pre-configured for you. It includes a launcher application that edits the config file for easy multiplayer setup etc.
