Landmaker (ランドメーカー?) is an arcade puzzle video game developed and released by Taito Corporation in 1998. Oooh,

Been meaning to try this one!

Only problem is my set-up is set to load landmakrp as this is the English text version.  Would this be acceptable?

Personally, I couldn't care less, I didn't realize there was an English version. I'm sure they're the same.

EDIT - although there's no hindrance in playing the Japanese version, either.

Also here's my last score before calling it a night last night. It's a MUST to build pantheons.

Pantheons score WAAAAY too high. Pretty much nothing else matters. Getting one in the first level is easy, but after that it feels almost impossible and quite luck dependent. I played a lot and I only had a single game where I managed to get a pantheon in level 2. Score was 16M but lower than yours acvieluf  :'(

So I just had to grind it out. There is one bonus level at the end that's pretty much a guaranteed pantheon.

I agree.  It takes skill to advance, it takes luck for the pantheon's (and subsequent high scores).  Still, not a bad game though.  One i was interested in, but hadn't played much until now.

Agree -- the 5 Million bonus for a pantheon is a bit much when it also gives you several other bonuses as well - 15,697,200 just by getting to the 2nd level with a pantheon on each !!

EDIT : Bit of improvement 17,802,720  Almost had the 3rd Pantheon but level moved and it was game over just before placing the final piece

Creating a pantheon is worth 1M points, clearing it off the playfield another 5M. What I always tried to do in the first level is to create a pantheon as fast as possible, then "destroy" it by changing parts of it to another color. Clear that color and recreate the pantheon. Another million. Repeat as often as you can. Most I've managed is 4 times or so, with ~11M after the first level.

Finally put together a game where I made the 2 pantheons on the first 2 levels and then kept going for several levels (usually it's either make the 2 pantheons and lose on the 4th or so level or miss the 2nd pantheon and get past several levels  ) This time made it to the second boss stage with a 3rd pantheon along the way (there seems to be one leveel in there where the pantheon is fairly easy) - 28,583,090

I have played all week, and have only managed to beat my score by about 50,000, so i didn't bother updating it.  Argh, haha.

Yep I have some problems with the yellow and orange squares - very hard to tell them apart when playing - they should have included some way to tell them apart other than the color.

I'm not colorblind but the yellow and orange blocks still ---fouled up beyond all recognition--- up plenty of games for me. You can tell them apart in the preview, but once they are in the "shooter" and pulsing it becomes almost impossible.
