Golden tee live HDTV conversion pics
« on: May 24, 2016, 09:27:03 pm »
Hello all, I was looking to upgrade my 2016 GT dedicated cabinet to a widescreen HDTV without spending a wack of cash while also not making it look like a hack job. I was googling images to try and give me some idea of what others have done. Not much out there so I thought I should post what I did. I have lots more pics of the whole process of anyone is interested. Let me know what you guys think.

Hey Ed, I had an upper LCD monitor on my original live cabinet, it didn't really have much of a purpose so I thought the marquee looked better instead.

in the manual for 2016 :live or home:
pg6 defines the use of both monitors and what the second monitor will display
as pointed out >score/top-player's-locations-holes-courses-etc<
also in the dip switch settings for hdmi it explains the sound in detail >u had a bad board<

I can't get the sound to work from the board now game speakers, only through the HDMI/TV speakers. I tried different dip settings, right now the dips are set at sw201 #1 off the rest are on sw202 #1 on the rest are off.

Any ideas? I can get sound to game speakers of I run from headphone jack on tv to the I/o board. But nothing when I run from nighthawk box to I/o board.

go to operator adjustables
come down to "sound adjustment"
set back ground and over all game volume
from what I read u will need to use the lineouts of the black hawk
if it is  a showpiece and or a home built unit
it should have built in speakers which are feed from the I/o board
there is no In cabinet amp. so u can amp it if u want.

Ok I got it figured, again I will post for future reference to help others with this problem. I swapped video cards and left all dip switches alone, then the audio worked through the nighthawk PC.  Like I originally thought, it is a video card thing. The only way to get 1080p HD is with a 740GT card and also audio through HDMI. the 9500GT video card and 640GT both will only give you only 720p HD and the audio will be through the PC and I/O board only the HDMI will be for video only.

It is impossible to have audio playing through the TV HDMI and the cabinet speakers both together. I prefer the cabinet speakers for sound so I had to run a Y cable from the TV headphone jack to the I/O board In order to get 1080p and audio through the cabinet speakers.

Not a big deal, just thought I would pass on the info.
