Auto power off??

Hey guys, got my pi running latest RetroPie SD image.  I've successfully edited my rc.local file so when I power on my Pi, it shows a splashscreen, then loads directly into mame/donkey kong.  Upon exiting the emulator, emulationstation loads. 

Is there a way that I can add something to the script within rc.local so that when I exit mame(donkey kong) the pi performs a sudo halt command to power off instead of loading emulationstation?

Want to have a dedicated DK cab that boots into donkey kong, and upon exiting -- shuts down
