ATARI TETRIS - Identifying missing component on PCB
« on: March 25, 2016, 09:07:35 am »
Need help to identify missing transistor on the PCB as marked in picture.

Anyone got a schematic or a board to verify which type of transistor used ?

No, there's a connection point With 3 solder pads. I'm almost sure that a transistor should be there.

IIRC the consensus is that there is no schematic out there for Atari Tetris. The closest I have seen is a partial of R20,30,40 in the Troubleshooting section of the manual.

Pictures of the board appear to show a transistor there. Repair logs talk about a transistor at B10, but nobody seems to mention the specifics. If I had to guess completely blind, I would guess 2N3904.

The good news is you don't have to guess (and I can't believe I am going to plug his YouTube channel) that BYOACer ChanceKC's pal Josh did a video on repairing the audio section of an Atari Tetris board ... so he has one and can check for you (hit him up by PM or over on KLOV).
