Space Invaders Dresser
« on: January 19, 2016, 11:27:54 pm »
Not really wood working, but I wanted to show off what I made. I bought a dresser at Ikea and had Space Invaders artwork printed at Staples. I used some Mod Podge to glue it on. Pretty much paint it on the back and the front. It's a glue and it's also a sealer to protect the front. The problem is the edges don't stick too well and can come off easy. Also the glue dries fast, so you gotta work quick.

Since the prints at Staples were just ordinary paper, just thicker, the print on the front can scratch easy. I was smoothing out Mod Podge on the front and accidentally wiped off a small spot on my artwork! I had to fill in a 1/8th inch spot in the crater with black Sharpie.

The end result came out a little better than you see here, as I re glued the edges, but even with my every day use, the edges are coming up.

I'd like to find someone to print me better quality art. Maybe I can somehow get these off and the better art on.
