Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 5 DX and future emulation in PC
« on: January 12, 2016, 03:12:51 pm »
Hi, this is my first post and i have a big interest in Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune.

I played in Brazil the 3DX+ , but today i don't have much money for arcade. I payed more than $200,00 on the 3DX+ with full story mode completed, but my question is about WMMT 5DX on PC. In my research, the WMMT 5DX run in Windows 7. This is modified version of Win 7 or is more easy than this? aka: we can run this game if dumped with dongle info?

PS: sorry about my bad english.

I've never heard of this particular game, but in general at least anything that runs on pc hardware can be hacked to run on a regular pc.  Windows especially.  I would suggest looking on the websites where the Taito Type X hackers reside.  Those are games that ran on modified windows XP and they were hacked rather easily.

As for emulation.... windows 7 is a current OS, so there wouldn't be much point.

The WMMT have a "giant portfolio" of trial.
The WMMT 1 and 2 are from Chihiro. We don't have any Chihiro emulator and MAME don't run. The only way is using a Xbox with MOD of 128MB RAM.
WMMT 3 normal use a specific board with 6 or 7 games only. Well, programmers don't have any interest to this.
WMMT 3DX+ have a private dump, but don't have dongle to unlock files. The board run in Linux.
WMMT 4 and 5 = ?
WMMT 5 DX have a Windows 7. Probably we don't have this because is "actual".

If any WMMT support Model 2/3 from Sega or Taito Type... But is really hard. =/

I'm a big fan of Maximum Tune and in Brazil (São Paulo), we have only 1 WMMT machine.

I haven't seen it turn up anywhere.
Nobody on this forum is going to hack it, although I'd love to be proven wrong.   :D

Thanks for giving me an excuse to post this though.....

Yuzo Koshiro did most of the music for the arcade games.
The soundtracks are definitely worth a listen.
(the theme song above was not done by Yuzo Koshiro)

I've never heard of this particular game.....

If you're not familiar with the animated series, it's about a teenage boy who pulls an outdated pony car out of a junkyard, fixes it up, and runs with fancy sportscars.
Everyone I grew up with had this dream.  T-tops forever man.

I feel like I've seen a few anime like that tbh.... they all sort of blend together.  T-tops seem like a good idea, until you live with them.  I'm glad my car has them so I don't bump my head on the ceiling, but other than that.... ;)

The piracy is not the point. Look, if i have the Chihiro emulator, i can buy a WMMT or WMMT 2 Chihiro disc on eBay and play. The 1 and the 2 are OLD. More than 10 years.

PS: WMMT have the BEST Yuzo Koshiro work for me. I listened Sonic 1 GG, Ys, Scheme, Shenmue, The Revenge of Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Kid Icarus: Uprising and more, and WMMT continue the BEST work from Koshiro.

Nobody said anything about piracy.  He means this isn't a forum of hackers, we aren't equipped to help you.

Yeah.  We are mostly end users like yourself.
There are only a few regulars here that can code and I'm not aware of any of them working on anything like this.

Your best bet is to search out the people that did the Taito Type X hacks or maybe the ones that cracked Sega Lindbergh.
If you supply them with the necessary parts, they might be interested enough to work on it.

Oh, sorry about that. =P
Well, the only way for me to play WMMT 1, 2 or 4 is another country, like Canada. Yes, Canada have more Wangan machines (available in list) than Japan.

Really? o.o
Thanks for this info, because the info actually on the internet is: "Chihiro games can run with 128MB, except the Crazy Taxi 3".

About the WMMT 5/5DX:

This vídeo show how the game works.

There's a forum out there where a bunch of guys talk about all kinds of Sega hardware stuff. Some guy on there was selling some kind of Naimi PC kit that ran all the naomi games and even managed to hack in FFB wheel support for OR2. It's been ages but 'll look for it and post the link to the thread when I find it

Yes! ASSEMBLERGAMES! That's the one thanks mate!

OP you could try asking the guys in that thread about Maximum Tune and how to get other Chihiro/Lindbergh games running. They have extensive experience with that sort of stuff.

To my knowledge, Jackalus is selling multi boot lindbergh kit's.
I doubt he will reveal the technical secrets behind that hack as it might dry out his source of income from it, but I hope I am wrong.

Why would you want to run this on PC? The initial loading has nothing to do with dongle it confirms: EWF, TPM, Bitlocker and any addional devices to the system. Do not start playing with it, you will most likely brick it and owner will not be happy  :applaud:

Why wouldn't you?

We get our jollies by running arcade racing games on PCs.  ;D
It's fun to be able to play 60+ arcade racing games at home on a single cabinet (especially Sega Model 1/2/3)

The Wangan series never got any home ports and was never emulated.
IIRC there is a PS2 Wangan game, but it is nothing like the arcade games from what I've read.

Even if someone had this, who would be stupid enough to leak this online and get 900000000000000 years in prison. Use some brain man.

I'm not sure where you are but here in America some rapists get 6 months or less.  I'm pretty sure they won't kick up much of a fuss over a game.
