Hi all,

I'm running Groovymame on an XP64 install on a Nanao MS2930 (manual tri-sync) monitor. I'm trying to get the desktop to display at 640x480i @ 15Khz, because 99% of the games I want to play are in 15Khz, and I don't like having to manually flip the dips every time I boot into a game (but I still want the option of going to 24/31Khz for the handful of games that struggle @ 15).

No matter what I enter in ResIList.txt, vmmaker appears to be deciding that my 15Khz request would be better off in progressive at 31Khz, and ignoring it (if I'm reading ModeList.txt correctly). Even when I try and flip the interlaced switch after a reboot in ArcadeOSD in the 640x480p @ 31Khz mode - nothing happens (even though ArcadeOSD is claiming the horizontal res is 15.xKhz). It still appears to be displaying progressive @ 31Khz.

I know this is possible, as my old install (identical OS, gfx card, monitor) was doing it this way. Is there anything crazy obvious I'm missing (apologies if so)?

Cheers,

Chris

The reason you're not getting any change in Arcade OSD, is probably because you're trying to modify the current desktop resolution. Set the desktop to a different resolution and you'll be able to modify it. Then set it back to 640x480.

Modify the whole 640x480 modeline in Arcade OSD with the required values for 15kHz interlaced. Keep in mind you not only need to change the interlace flag, but the rest of values too. Use a working 640x480@60i modeline as a source.
Important note: posts reporting GM issues without a log will be IGNORED.
Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.
