I like narrow cabinet Mario Bros machines so much better. The widebodies were a major botch.
Execs at Nintendo were like, "OMG, this game have two player at same time. Never been done before, except for that time that all games were that way from 1972 to 1977 and a smattering of games from 1978 until today. What to do, normal 24" cabinet not good enough? I know, create 2 player control panel to fit Dankey Kang cabinet, use that for kit, add an extra inch and a half of empty space on each side for dedicated without placing players any further apart. Also, did you know that 10 years from now Street Fighter 2 will define the 2 player experience using a 24" cabinet?"
2am Update
She's home. I've moved around a few things, so i have a place to put it. For the time being i need to vacuum inside, and pull the batteries off the PCB ASAP. I'll relocate them to the base of the cab later. Then i'll move this in line with my DKU cab.

First off, i've found some loose change in the coin box.

Here's an interesting find, the P1/P2 buttons have been spliced into the coin mechs somehow to get the cab into "free play". I'd like to reverse this when i do the restore.

This gives me an estimate of how many games it was played before the mod was done.

Also, everything's a bit newer on this then my last one. the 20EZ has the addition of a nice little degauss switch.

Well, thats the end of the trip, time to get some sleep.
