I have an LED Wiz +GP and plan on using all 16 LED outputs. Eventually I'd like 5 RGB drives that require 3 outputs each, plus one solo LED. (eventually because I mistakenly bought 4) According to all the threads I just went through, I need to "tap in to the computer power supply" to get a 5v source for LEDs 9 - 16. I'm still not clear how I do that exactly and I'm still not sure if I need to go buy a fuse.
I am using a corporate type Dell computer and the PS can only power 2 devices. The first is for the HD, but the second connection is available. It used to power a sata dvd drive, that requires 5v and 1.8 A. The connection is simple with just 1 thin red wire and 1 thin black wire. Since everything I have from GGG already has the proper resistors, can I just daisy chain from the red to power 3 of the RGB Drive LEDs? If so, what do I do with the ground? If not, how do I use that connection to power these LEDs?
