wtb Green Lantern themed Marguee
« on: June 13, 2015, 01:10:36 pm »
ok I can woodwork and I can do the electronics and I have even done pretty well with Hyperspin as a front end.  But I totally suck trying to make a marguee for the stand up I am building for my son.  He has chosen green led buttons , green led joystick, green t-molding, green led lights under the cabinet (you get the picture) does someone have a present green lantern marguee or would be willing to make one for a price.....does not have to be elaborate
thanks

Could use an image from the web with a couple adjustments but as Malenko mentioned what are the dimensions of the marquee area ( would need both with and without brackets so we would know what size and what size border area to avoid clipping of the visible area)

And then have it printed on backlit transparency by stpcore for $15 ( http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,143964.0.html )

Thanks so much for your help
The size without brackets would be 23 x 9 inches
With brackets it would be 23 x 8 1/8 inches

Thanks

I did see Stpcore's thread but did not know he would just print something someone sent him....been hanging around here for years but still appreciate what everyone does.

HEre is a copy of the one I posted earlier sized to 24x10 (has a 1/2" extra black border all around for trimming - the material stpcore uses can be trimmed with scissors or a box cutter so best to have a bit extra to make sure it can be centered correctly.) -- I uploaded it to dropbox as it is too big to post here with the 2MB limit ( Linkie - https://www.dropbox.com/s/0v37kex41krsta7/Green%20Lantern%20Marquee.png?dl=0 )

(I'll leave the link live for awhile in case you want to just send stpcore the link rather than download and reupload to him)

Photshop pic showing ruler for size verification -

EDIT : Uploaded another pic that you might like better as well ( Linkie - https://www.dropbox.com/s/995d5s4m4gs71xf/GreenLanternOption2.png?dl=0 ) and posted smaller sample pic below

you should do one with the comic book lanterns, not shots of the horrible movie :)

You have a point - Those were just the ones Google search showed on the first page of results !! (guess they pay more advert revenue than the comic versions  :dunno)

Something like below perhaps (Again extra 1/2 inch border added to all sides)

Dropbox Linkie for fullsize ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/ift1w0rvgqfe37o/GLComic.png?dl=0 )

Yeah we need an emoticon for [snort] [snort].  As in "You mean Alan Scott? [snort] [snort]"

Thanks so much JDFan and Malenko I have contacted spcore and am awaiting his reply.  I really can't thank you enough.  I added the link to the classic comic book png to the email

Again my thanks to both of you!
