Right, more chuff less fluff.

This year my wife and I went to a country I've wanted to visit ever since I was a kid.  Peru.
Such a beautiful country, with an incredible history, landscapes and diverse micro-climates that rivals any other beautiful country out there, including our very own majestic True North.

Being an outdoorsy couple who has a love for hiking to gorgeous vistas, we decided to embark on the Inca trail's 4-day hike from beginning to end!
The trail length itself is only 25 miles, but length is not the difficulty here...it's the elevation.
You start at about 9000 ft above sea level, then up to it's peak at 13780 ft (incredibly beautiful up there), then all the way down to Machu Picchu which is at 7272 ft.

The hike itself is not for novices due to the constant inclination/declination throughout the path, even for us there were points where we had to take it slow...and we consider ourselves seasoned hikers. But the trail is incredible, with many many viewpoints of the surrounding mountains, ruins left by the Incas, waterfalls, rivers...and not to forget all the unique flora and fauna of the Peruvian rain-forest.  Llama's are so fricken cool!
I am glad we decided to do the entire hike, rather than just taking a train to see Machu Picchu, because every ruin we saw were just as elaborate, as well as empty of tourists and you really can take it all in and relax without having to navigate around the hordes of people jocking for a photo-op (which is what disappointed me about Machu Picchu).

This was probably my most favourite hiking trips we've taken, beating out our Grand Canyon hike, and the much shorter Yosemite Half Dome.

Aside from the Inca trail, Cusco and Lima were great cities to visit. The food was incredible, the people were friendly, and everything was cheap! People had concerns with safety and crime in Peru before we left, but while we were there we didn't encounter any kind of danger other than the 2-foot wide trails on the side of the mountain cliffs. The cities felt safe enough, and the people seemed to have an overall happy welcoming vibe.

This trip really made me want to explore more of South America...I just gotta learn more Spanish first. ;)

If you want to complain about moderation, please do it in the forum discussion forum.

Also, I'd be just as happy if you didn't, not because I don't care about your opinions, but because I've heard them enough that additional discussion on it won't add anything. However, if you feel strongly, feel free in the appropriate forum.

I've said and I repeat that I won't close this forum down until the last visitor stops visiting, to the point where I've made arrangements with my wife if something should happen to me, but sometimes folks can make it hard to stick to my guns. Not a threat, just a lament.

This is a topic about complaining about things naffing on your chuff, in the everything else section, so my post was on topic. Nothing was derailing or unpleasant. No personal attacks or genuine shittiness. Complaining about Scott has fallen on deaf ears, so as you said complaining more in the forum discussion would change nothing........ hence me just venting in here.  Sorry to see that suddenly(?) I'm considered a problem user, but that doesnt change that Scott isnt a good moderator.

My brother has one of those. They're pretty bad-ass, and very easy to modify the insides. I asked him if he would ever sell it, which he quickly responded "Hell no numb-nuts. I love this baby and ain't never getting rid of it!". So I guess that's that.

Yeah, they're even harder to find here in the Southwest.
