Geez, even when I know how fast tech advances, I'm still surprised at how fast tech advances:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1598272670/chip-the-worlds-first-9-computerSpecs:
- 1GHz SoC
- Mali400 GPU with OpenGLES 2.0 (and OpenVG 1.1)
- 512MB DDR2 RAM
- 4GB on-board Flash storage
- USB (micro and standard)
- Composite Video (HDMI & VGA Out via adapter)
- Headphone audio out, Mic in
- Single board, 60 x 40 mm (roughly credit-card sized)
- Three mounting holes (a simple but important feature!)
Ought to run MAME like a champ, and is smaller than a joystick.
I've got a bartop that I've been too embarrassed to show, because it's got a Mac Mini hanging out the back... my plan to use a RPi was foiled because I couldn't get the video I needed out of it. I'm getting me one of these and sticking it inside. I will probably get another one for my full-sized cabinet too, where it will be so small, most people would open the back and say "Where's the dang computer?!?"
(Apologies if this has already been discussed... I did a quick search but didn't see anything about it here.)
