THE INVADERS (Zaccaria/Zelco) - Use in US
« on: February 17, 2015, 05:21:04 pm »
A few years ago I purchased a fully working THE INVADERS (Zaccaria/Zelco) arcade board.

As far as I know, this game never sold in the US (another totally different game using the same name sold in the US, but it wasn't this game).

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this connected to a power supply, monitor, controller, and speaker?
I'd like to get it running, and I live in the US.

Thanks.

Craig.

http://www.zzzaccaria.com/ has a fairly detailed repair log for this cab. I didn't see anyplace to get the docs so I would try emailing the site owner and see if he responds.

I know the site owner, Paul's a great guy and I'm sure he'd reply to your questions.

I spend a lot of time looking at the cabs on that site. They are something else.  8)

The guy is a jerk. I spent all my free time reading his articles and he's slow to put more articles up.  Someone send him another ZZZ cab. :angry:

* A PSU with +5 and +12V, standard PC pSU would probably do it (without knowing the exact amp requirements). Can't see anything about negative voltages
* Any standard TV with composite video input
* 5 standard buttons
* standard 8 Ohm speaker

Thanks.

I do have some old board diagrams if that helps.
I'm including a pic of the actual board plus the power board diagram and power supply diagram.

Well, there you have several good reasons why the guys from Italy should be plumbers and jumping barrels rather than doing electrical engineering ;) That power board is wasting a lot of power going away as heat…

But it emphasizes my first assumption that a standard +12V and +5V PSU should be fine.
I assume that the green connector in low right part of the board is the power connector.

The small white connector at C is probably video output.
