Upright Cabinet (sides and coin door added)
« on: May 06, 2015, 01:05:35 pm »
Been a while since I posted a new project but here goes.
This will be a upright (almost lowboy) type cab. I'm using a very heavy VGA monitor I got from Santoro a while back.
Building it from the frame out. Screen will be at an angle that's why the "almost a lowboy". Still working on the side of the cabinet, undecided but sketched out one idea.
The inside will be jamma powered (no PC). Either going to use my Die Hard Jamma or my X-men vs Street Fighter (Raz was able to bring my cps2 board back to life).
Leaning towards the Die Hard just because I can swap it out the board and with my Run N Gun Board.
No idea about artwork yet. Any ideas, suggestions would be appreciated.

Great start! Going to be a hefty SOB when it's done!  Theme would be tough if you want to swap out boards periodically, unless you went with just a generic theme.

Been a while since I had time for this build. Sides have been pre-cut but still undecided on the overall shape of the top. I'm definitely leaning towards x-men vs Street fighter theme (already have the Capcom controller decals and the marquee printed). Here's the new idea, thinking of cutting out lit circles on the sides with some etched plexi like many have done here.
Ideas, suggestions always welcomed.

Very cool, so will you be adding the sections for the control panel later?
Finished: 2 bartops and a cocktail
Not-Finished: 1bartop, 2cocktails, and 2 stand ups.

Yes control panel will be added. Will probably be detachable
since this beast can barely fit through the doorway now.
