That's awesome, Ond. Everyone who wants to meet you needs to make the trip! I only wish you could do a workshop on painting techniques!
I'd be happy to do a workshop, not sure how that would fit in with the schedule but hopefully it would add to what people can take away from the event. I say to people make a commitment to go, make a bit of a plan of action, spousal approval etc. Sure ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- happens, that's understandable, but fortune favours the brave as well. I liked the Vigo goodies bag idea, I'll have come up with something similar.
Was there a large KLOV crowd there this year? imagine a large BYOAC crowd there next year. There's some folks I'd love to meet who over the years have become very quiet. People like drventure or pixelhugger for example, early hero's to me. I've been here since 2009 btw, watching peeps comin in, peeps goin out.
Actually, it's more gaming than programming, but one of the goals for next year is to get someone like Walter Day out to talk. One of the locals used to work for Twin Galaxies back in the day and is good friends with Walter. My hope is to get Billy Mitchell as well.
The KLOV/BYOAC group was all locals, save for Le Chuck and Neph. This year was the start of a dream of mine. I've envied seeing the photos of KLOVers hanging out at places like California Extreme and Grinkers, and I wanted to meet my BYOAC brothers. I know HaRuMaN and Slippyblade well, so it was a pleasure to meet LC, Neph, RetroGreg and MelvinBates. I want to see guys like us hanging out at events like this, taking photos, having fun, shooting the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---. It was great running into Taco Time Charlie, who admitted he was a lurker - my dream is to get guys like that out of the shadows and into social groups hanging out at places like ZapCon and StarFighters and the like. I would love to see some of you guys fly in at least once or twice every 5 years to hang out. As long as you guys come, I promise to serve as the BYOAC ambassador. I'll get the shirts made and IDs printed and compile the swagbags if that means we get to have a presence at events like this.
