X-Men vs. Street Fighter cropped/uncropped marquee - by me :)
« on: December 02, 2014, 03:38:54 am »
My other thread is below this.
I'm a graphic designer so I decided to clean up the really bad version with creases and stuff myself.

Here it is... of course feel free to use it.
Posting the cropped and uncropped versions.

Also attaching what I started with as a point of reference.

great job with the seams, but the contrast/brightness/saturation is off on a few characters (namely Ryu and Chun Li)  just needs some minor tweaks but is overall a fantastic job.

I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

they seem to look that way in every photo I can find, even the original artwork of photos of the cabs. probably because the artwork is just the individual characters spliced together.

probably because the artwork is just the individual characters spliced together.

You've made a considerable advancement on the given source material.

That said, the picture suggests they all gathered to show their war face for a group photo, but we all know that is not the case.

I wonder if you would consider removing the characters you don't have a full a view of their faces.  Also, consider removing the Marvel Comics M, the "fine print" and the Capcom logo.  They look out of place and are for marketing and licensing.  I know that in particular is more detailed, but I think it would look better.

Please note:
None of this is a criticism on you.  You've done fine work.  In general though, there are problems with this clip art style. A search will yield past discussions.  More than likely this is why there wasn't more participation.

I disagree. I like the original assets on the marquee (the Marvel Comics M, the "fine print" and the Capcom logo). They were there on the original, and I think it adds an air of authenticity.

Having said that, I could see Eric's points if you were using this on a MAME cab. Either way would be fine, but don't discard the work you did with the original assets.

You mean a bit more like this quick adjustment to Chun Li and Ryu --

 :applaud: :applaud:

Great job on this guys. I actually have one of those x-men vs Street fighter A and B boards. Been looking for an unclipped bezel for a while now so this is just what I needed.

Skanndelus, JDfan can you email me the file so I can have it printed, or upload it here so anyone that can use it has access to it.

 :notworthy:

^This -- The one I did is just the single jpg image ( I only did a quick couple of filters on the selected regions on the original made by Skanndelus as an example so didn't save the layers used) that is uploaded (just click on the pic to bring it up in a window - Left click to get full size - right click and select Save File As to save it to your system Or copy image and paste into your photo editing software.

Does anyone know the exact size of the marquee?
I want to print them out but want to confirm the dimensions.

Thanks

Thanks for the help Eric. This is what I found online.
26 inches long by 8 inches in height.
