Ok, I broke down and ordered a new Pi
DaOld Man:
Update:
Got the pi 2 in yesterday, hooked it up and tested it. Hooked it to my 55" HDMI TV. Need to order the AV cable so I can hook it to a regular monitor.
Installed Raspbian Pi (NOOBS) on an 8 gig Toshiba micro SD card and was good to go.
Second pic is a little blurred.

Nice. Let us know what you do with it.
Mine is coming in today(hopefully). Will probably try Plex on it first then emulation station again.

OK, Ive got to get an a/v cable and maybe the hdmi to vga converter for it, so I can use a regular monitor. Its not easy using it as a computer on my big screen TV, and I don't have a smaller tv with hdmi on it.
Wired203:
hdmi to vga requires a converter from digital to analog and they usually run about 30 bucks, now if you have a dvi monitor a hdmi to dvi stays digital and you can get them on ebay for about 5-7 bucks.

They're much cheaper than that on Ebay.
I'd be interested to know whether you can use an HDMI to VGA converter, and still create custom screen resolutions and refresh rates. If you can, then this latest iteration of the Pi might finally be a viable alternative to a PC for a cabinet.
