looks great, hope theres an option to change the default colors, they are puke inducing.

Drift Stage is a modern evolution of the classic arcade racer, bringing the gameplay up to date a bit while keeping the late 80's style intact.

I'd rather have the old gameplay kept and the graphics brought up to date.  ;D

The color scheme is painful to look at.  I know it supposed to be sunset, but that is waaaay too washed out looking, especially the cars.

too many pastels.  If its not configurable, it'd be enough to make me not buy the game

Yeah, the 80's Trapper Keeper color scheme might wear after a while. It is pretty early on, so I am curious as to what it will become.

At first I thought the buildings on the horizon were swiped from Streets of Rage, but upon comparison they aren't.

But that got me to thinking....
A retro driving game with the visual and musical styling of Streets of Rage would be friggin awesome.
I should really take the time to learn how to do some mods in Cannonball.  (one of those someday things I'll never actually get around to)

Yuzo Koshiro did do the music for most of the Wangan Midnight arcade games.

EDIT:  If this were to be done utilizing Cannonball, I would call it OutRage.  ;D
So many great ideas, so little time and motivation.

I'd buy that for a dollar!

Now you just need time ;)

I love that idea and that name. If it had some of the tunes from Streets of Rage Remake in it (particularly Max Man 2 and Never Return Alive - but they're all good) I'd be in dance music/driving heaven.

I read on www.rolling-start.com that there is a alpha release out. It has a time trial mode you can try out.

its actually pretty fun. It does have some issues. They need to work on the exit drift physics. Its weird that it goes sideways to straight right away, i keep expecting an overcorrect. Outrun 2k6 was great at making outlandish drifts and then transitioning smoothly back to straight. Also I can see it getting repetitive if all the level are city skylines. Otherwise I can see myself buying it. It does have a keymapper but It wouldnt read my g25 properly. Hopefully that gets fixed too. I played with an xbox controller.

I like love the music.
I love the 80's style digital speedo and tach.
I love the ridge racer city feel.

I still hate the colors, especially the car.

Not sure I can get behind this since the only two kickstarters I've ever supported are now a year overdue for delivering what they promised.

They've already got a working game - on Steam Greenlight no less - what the hell do they need a kickstarter for?  What are they "starting" that they need start up cash for?

A cash grab scam.  That's what.
