2014 PC Cobble
« on: December 30, 2014, 01:41:34 pm »
It's not quite  the *shazzling,* but I put together a faster PC from my parts on hand and from my summer curbside pickups.

The thing that is new to me is all the on board usb headers this thing has I think I counted 11, must include the ones on the back.

It doesn't have the fastest cpu, but it's got 8 gig of ram and a geforce 260

Sounds way nicer than the crap I have laying around.

I've got an AM3 mobo that freezes until flexed.  I hit it with the heat gun to the point of melting plastic, but it still has a bad joint somewhere.
It works consistently if you push down on the usb port housing hard enough to flex the entire board.
Debating on building a custom enclosure that keeps it flexed.  :lol

....that's the kind of stuff I have laying around.

It is an asus M5A78L-M LX PLUS.  It looks like I can put a modern cpu in it.
