Slayers evox auto installer for xbox

It's one of the simplest ways to get an xbox up and running if you are new to it.  I recommend it.  Just be sure that you alter it to your needs if you konw how to do that.... extract the iso and alter the .ini's etc to match your network, etc etc.   The new 2.6 has the newest evoX as well IIRC and pretty recent versions of everything else, so you won't have to update much.

If you're picky about having everything set up how you want, do it yourself.  otherwise, Slayer's is great and very simple.

I wish I could actually run it!  I have slayers 2.6 install disk and a brand new drive, but my stupid v1 xbox with the crappy dvd-drive won't read the disc (cd-r, cd-rw, or dvd-r).

chip on order that has it's own bios. Can I install Evox and emus and XBMC with the bios that is already on the mod chip? Or do I have to find another bios?

It read nothing at all ? I used memorex cdrw,burned at 1X,tried 5-6 times then it finally booted.Just so you know,it might work

Shouldn't be a problem with the bios on the smart xx chip.

I don't see why not..,thats what those banks are for, so you can try other bios'.  But any mod bios will run all the apps.  To see what some of the special features are of each bios, check out this comparison chart on xbox-sene:

Ok I think I understand that with the mod chips default bios I should have no problem installing other apps. And when I run into problems with apps that won't load that's when I try other bios's

With Slayers you get what you basically need installed to play backups on the XBOX.

I never use the bios that come with iht, but I do install all of the software.

Let me make one very important suggestion:

BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL HARD DRIVE.. Read the guide that comes w/ slayers.  

Also, just becuase you "lock" your hard drive, and even if you have a bios with build in "Live!" protection, it doesn't mean you can't get banned from Xbox live.

My suggestion is, if you EVER plan on playing on xbox live, get an xtender mod (www.teamxtender.com).  Yes, it adds some height to your xbox, but allows you to install up to 3 hard drives (120 gig or less), and boot from the one you wish using the included panel.  Your best bet not to get banned is to use your retail hard drive ONLY for retail xbox stuff, and use the other hard drive(s) for non-retail stuff.  

www.xbox-scene.com has more info on this if you read the forums, but you're going to wade through 1 million posts about "How come I'm not banned then if I modded with my original drive?"  "I don't know, but I did everything I was supposed to and I got banned", etc etc etc.  The fact is, noone is 100% positive about what new criteria Microsoft is using to detect modded xboxes, so to be safe, get a mod that allows multiple hard drives, and leave your virgin drive just the way it is.

If you don't care about/Aren't ever going to use Live!, then, don't worry about it .

Hi! I've tried to load Slayers 2.6 with a Sony CD-RW but as yet had no luck. I have an X3 and not changed anything on it yet - came with FlashBios3.0.0. Getting my mate to burn the Slayers on DVD-R to see if that works. Any ideas? Oh I have XBox v1.6. Any help would be appreciated. Looked on forums everywhere!

Also, I have put a corrupt bios on my 1MB Bank 1. Does anyone know how to use the backup BIOS that comes with X3? I know you press both the eject and power button at the same time but how do i reflash the bad bios? Just load up the backup bios with the switches set for Bank 1 and reflash? Again any help is appreciated!

I'm not familiar with the X3 chip, but you probably still need a bios disc.  Set up the system to the messed up bank, and flash it with a bios disc.  You can read on making a bios disc on xbox-scene.com

Thanks for the reply - OK so whats the bios disc? I thought that was my Slayers 2.6? Do I need something else before I load Slayers? Also, the messed up bank only shows a black screen so I can't select anything. Maybe I do load the backup bios with the switches set for Bank 1 (Messed up bank) and load a new bios that way. Anyone know any other bios that will work with X3? Thanks again!
