TMNT - 4 player select/play on 2 player joystick?
« on: October 11, 2014, 02:15:14 pm »
I know this has probably been asked before, but I wasn't able to find an answer on it. I'm a beginner to the arcade cabinet scene, and as my first setup, I've stuck with a simple X-Arcade Tankstick setup. I have everything working fine, but for 4 player games (mainly TMNT that I've seen so far), I don't know how to set it up so that me and a friend can put credits in, and select whichever turtle we want - mainly because it's supposed to put credits in for whatever turtle you want and play that # joystick. So how do you guys do a 4 player game like TMNT on a 2 player joystick setup?

Probably easier to just play the 2-player version.

There's a clone rom that's setup for 2 players. I think it's called Oceania or Ocean-something. Insert coins, select turtle, cowabunga.
Oceania = Australia + surrounding islands  ::)

Here are a few 2-player versions of 4-player games to choose from:

ROM name = tmnt2po
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Oceania 2 Players)

ROM name = tmnt22pu
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Turtles in Time (2 Players ver UDA)

ROM name = simpsons2p
The Simpsons (2 Players World, set 1)

ROM name = xmen2pa
X-Men (2 Players ver AAA)

ROM name = gauntlet2p
Gauntlet (2 Players, rev 6)

ROM name = gaunt22p
Gauntlet II (2 Players, rev 2)   ;D

a dumber but different solution, if you cant figure out how to load up 2 player roms, would be to remap the start button to the turtle/simpson/xman you want.
If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

There are many 4P games (mainly from Sega and Konami) that are in MAME as main set. I prefer to take 2P set and don't bother with tricks.
