Groovy arcade Double image
« on: September 09, 2014, 01:48:35 am »
So i have tried Groovy arcade i can get to the point where i should i have proper 15khz and all i see is double image, i can start the front end even the games which are properly displayed on single screen in correct resolution. My card is geforce 6200 le works well with soft 15khz.The question is why the double image seem like card isnt suported but then i can launch the games just fine so why the double image.

are you using a 27/29" Makvision monitor? I've found they don't like to display interlaced resolutions, and the image ends up looking like it's got a really fast vertical jitter or blurry double image when you try to use one of those modes.

No i'm not using makvision monitor.I'm on pal tv using vga scart cable. The question is why it isn't working i have interlaced modes in win xp just right no problem here.It just shows groovy arcade main menu screen in low res but double image.I really don't know why.

Hi wman,

I had the same issue when testing an old Nvidia card I have around (GeForce4 Ti 4200). I believe the problem is that the open source Nvidia drivers ("nouveau" drivers) we use in Linux don't support interlaced modes. Trying to set an interlaced mode results in the two fields being shown one on top of the other.

The only workaround I can think of is forcing a progressive mode in the kernel boot line. I haven't tested this however.

Steps to create a log:
 - From command line, run: groovymame.exe -v romname >romname.txt
 - Attach resulting romname.txt file to your post, instead of pasting it.

Hi calamity

Well i was thinking that the main menu in the groovy arcade is low res at least thats what my card display. If its really interlaced than im unlucky, ati card would solve my problem but its not easy to get the right one.

What about testin the progressive resolution would that be an issue.

Thanks

You need to tell us how you have it hooked up..
Are you going through any sort of AMP?
