1.52 rom set help, what emulator to use ?

hi guys,

i got the 1.52 rom set and chds ,
ive been trying to use them with various versions of mame,mame32plus ,mame plus ,
and everything is giving me varied results,
now ive got some of them working on mame 153b,
how ever this set up is completley strange to me ,i m used to the old version
with menus where you can see the list of games and scroll thru the entire set,
ive figured out you can type a name of a game in and it will find it,
but alot of the games arnt working with this mame 153b,

am i using the right emulator for the 1.52 set and if so,
is there a special way to set up the roms and chds?

Ive dragged all the roms into the rom folder,
and also dragged the chd folders into the rom folder,
i thought that would have worked well,

please any advice! ive down loaded so many versions of mame now ad spent ages
transfering roms but its seems to not work as well as my older version

some roms change with each release.  If you have a romset for .152, use mame .152.

If you want to use .153 for some particular feature, or game or update, then use .153.

thanks mate , easy as that, hunted abit found that version got it, installed moved roms across , now all that games i was trying are working
