U360's not recognized - need repair?
« on: December 23, 2013, 10:26:20 am »
Hi all - I bought some U360's a while ago (2008) and I'm pretty sure my son has yanked on them enough to cause them to break. They no longer register in windows, nor can they be detected by the Ultimarc software. Despite using restrictor plates to shorten the movement I think the stick has been jarring the magnet and circuit board and caused it to malfunction. Does anyone know if it is possible to order a new PCB for the 2 u360's I have and if they will work in my older sticks (I assume the product has been revised since)?

One of the sticks also had one of the moorings break off so I suppose I need that also. Curious if you can order these individual parts or if I should start over with new sticks.

Thanks.

You should PM Andy from Ultimarc.   He was really good to send me just a couple of pieces when they went bad on my u360s.  I bet he would help you get only the stuff you need assuming the boards are still the same.  His username is AndyWarne here on the forum.

Good luck.
