Reject coin door Lights on my super chexx
« on: November 25, 2013, 06:58:03 pm »
For starters, I am new to the forum...my name is Dan, I'm from Mount Joy, PA....I just recently bought a super chexx new from the manufacture....it came with the Suzo-happ over under coin door, but no wedge lamp holders.  Has anyone ever wired lights to their coin door with this game?  I have one spare yellow wire coming off the harness for the coin switches, but it only reads 7 volts, and has no ground attached...I also ordered some red LEDs from super bright LED. If anyone can help me out with this, I'd greatly appreciate it!

ok so i did a little snooping around on the base molex connector...my meter is showing there are 2 spots on the board that are providing +12v and 1 spot providing GND.  Those 3 holes on the molex aren't being used.  I am guessing I can use those pending i can find a molex male crimp end for both a red and black wire.  Anyone shed some light on this that has more experience in electricity?  I don't want to fry the game, but according to the games manual, those 3 connections are def open and are +12v and GND...

I just tested out the LEDs i bought.  I plugged in a wire to the 12v (pin 3) and a wire to the GND (pin 4)...Lit the light right up.  I just need to find myself a spare molex with the connectors, or just buy the male ends somewhere and crimp them onto some wire.  I think this will work...

Thank you...I ordered them already from another seller on eBay which I'm regretting because I've been waiting over 10 days already. And with the holiday tomorrow, they still won't be here until Friday. If your going to have an eBay auction, make sure you actually have the item in hand!  After my order they advised that it wasn't even in stock!

ok here is the finished pictures...I have it wired right to the games power supply...Harness #2 which controls the boo sounds, shots on goal, score and basic game features had an extra 2 12v slots that were not being used and an extra ground...so i hooked right into it...I bought some LED's from Superbrightleds.com...I had bought some with 6 LEDs, 4 LEDs and a Single LED...I went with the 6 LED because of how bright it is...it really lights the red reject button up nicely!
