about to start a new mame cab project
« on: October 07, 2014, 03:25:38 am »
first new mame cab project in a couple years, planning to do a relatively simple conversion from a late 80s jamma cab.  gonna custom design a wood control panel, 6 buttons per player, probably some happ ultimate sticks, and just a couple admin buttons, a credit and an escape button, both hidden.

figuring a flat screen monitor used off ebay, and a cheapo PC running windows XP.  zero delay encoders.

in the end, it will be something cheap and capable of playing most of the working joystick controlled games running an older version of mame.  so yeah, nothing fancy, just simplicity, functionality, and hopefully not too ugly!!! hahaha...

i have the cab, the rest i should be getting soon, and i will post pics as progress develops.

any suggestions are welcome.

I'd suggest different sticks.  If you want to go American style I'd go with IL Eurostick.
