Stepmania files?
« on: November 19, 2003, 02:57:00 pm »
Anyone know any good sources of the dwi files (or any others?)  I thougth they where pretty easy to get... but after a while looking, all I see is some individual ddr rips (and only a few of those)

Do people still trade them?

Also, anyone know the best program to create them?  My daughter LOVES kidzbop1-4 (and KoolMoeDee I'm so proud!)... and I would like to make dwi files for those if I cant find them elsewhere.

<edit>  I'm not looking for MP3 files... but the dwi files.  after rereading it didn't sound obvious... I am looking / hoping that I can get my daughters favorite song going.

ddramerica.com has a bittorrent link section that has just about every DWI pack floating around out there.  DDRUK.com has DWI bumper packs of each DDR release (The links to those are also on DDRamerica.com).

As far as making DWI files for songs you have, the DWI site recommends xstep, but I've never used it.  Here's the link:

Best of luck!

I was kinda hoping that they would have a bunch of 'normal' ones around (since they are very small... and easy)...

but after thinking about it... getting the timing down on a mp3 file that wasn't used to create the file might not be all that useful.

Thanks!

It's not all that hard, the BPM is the same, and the steps are the same, the only thing that would be different is the gap (The time the program waits before starting the steps).  If you know how a song is supposed to play, you can tinker with these values.

http://www.ddrmaniax.net  You need to use IRC now to get them.
Also check the urer submitted section, which will give you a clue to another site.
