init code request from mala.exe
« on: August 04, 2013, 08:58:45 am »
hello, we bought an arcade machine a while ago which came with mala as its multiemulator frontend, unfortunately, after trying to figure out how to add games to it, a message window displaying an "application status LOCKED" text , asking us to add a "init code" to unlock application is now being shown when running the mala.exe file, from what we know, mala is free, so we dont know why is this happening, even rebooting the machine, the message became permanent, if someone can help us how to unlock it, would be great, thanks.

I don't know for sure, but I believe someone used a third party application to password protect mala.exe.  It took me two minutes worth of googling to figure that out.  You need to contact the previous owner for assistance.  Other than that, google for a few minutes or find someone who is PC knowledgable.

or download the latest mala and copy the exe over?

If you're replying to a troll you are part of the problem.
I also need to follow this advice. Ignore or report, don't reply.

yes, using the latest mala exe did the trick, however it told me it would save emulator list with new format since older was incompatible, but now, everything seems to work normally, even i switched back to the old exe and the frontend is working normally without any code requests, glad this was simpler to fix than i expected, thanks for your help.
