Blank Screen after loading several MAMES? X Gaming Arcade Machine with tankstick

Hey all hoping you can help me I have been trying to get several games loaded into my MAME ROM folder tons of the games work and then some give me a blank screen after I click to open the game.  I see the game in my list (example Super Mario Brothers MAME ROM) or SMB / PC_Mario.  When I click on the game sometimes it will show "loading" and then go black, others will just go "blank".  I know the roms work because to many of them do this its to odd. I have also downloaded the same rom from several sites and same thing.  I use the it on my new X gaming system any suggestions?

 select configuration tab
Select Mame. Towards the bottom left of the screen is a drop down for path. Change this, I changed from short
Path to long path now all my games work. Maybe it will work for you

also before you play games using Maximus try playing games on emulator you might be missing files...
